With nearly three decades of experience in agriculture and financial services, Paul Erickson is the visionary founder of Conterra Ag Capital. Under his leadership as President and CEO, Paul guided the company to manage over a billion dollars in assets, ensuring robust financial performance and adeptly overseeing investor portfolios.

Before establishing Conterra, Paul held several executive roles, notably as Senior Vice President of Business Development at AgStar Financial Services. There, he founded Agri-Access and spearheaded the development of a national agricultural lending program during his sixteen-year tenure. His comprehensive expertise spans loan origination, approval, closing processes, and the management of distressed assets.

Earlier in his career, Paul served as Director of Business Development for the U.S. and Canada at DuPont Optimum Quality Grains, where he was responsible for business development activities and grain contracting.

Raised on a small grain and beef cattle farm in northern Minnesota, Paul earned an AAS in Agribusiness from Des Moines Area Community College and a BS in Animal Science from Iowa State University. He has also pursued continuing education at Harvard Business School.

In 2025, Paul transitioned to a consultancy role within Conterra, continuing to offer his invaluable expertise to the company. His enduring commitment to agriculture and finance remains a cornerstone of Conterra’s mission to support American farmers and agribusinesses.
